PALMDALE, CA — Step inside Transplants Brewing Company and you’ll likely be greeted by “Patches,” the resident cat-mascot who treats the tasting room like her stage—perching on barrels, mingling with guests, and occasionally accepting a chorus of head scratches. That playful, welcoming energy sums up the Transplants experience: original live entertainment, inventive beers, otherworldly art—and a crew that takes authenticity seriously.

From Home Batches to a Beloved Venue
Transplants began as a couples’ hobby for Matthew and Sarah Luker. Early batches progressed quickly—from a small batch to the kitchen to the garage—and by about the 10th brew they were kegging. They hadn’t planned to open a brewery, but with community encouragement and a key SBA startup loan (secured with brewing equipment as collateral), the dream moved from homebrew to hometown fixture.
The brewery opened in January 2016 and will celebrate 10 years this coming January with an ambitious plan: 10 days of beer releases—a calendar their regulars won’t want to miss.
A Stage Built for the AV
Transplants always envisioned beer and culture together. Post-pandemic, they leaned in fully: live music, comedy, open mics, Lucha Libre, video game tournaments, and more. They’re proud members of NIVA (the National Independent Venue Association) and collaborate with trusted promoters like Numbskull, Sucka Punch, and New Tradition Lucha Libre to bring touring artists to the Antelope Valley.
Genres run the gamut—punk, rock, metal, reggae, and beyond—and notable acts have included Afroman, Fear Factory, FEAR, Soulfly, Subhumans, DJ Quik, Agent Orange, Kyle Gass Band, Metalachi, Mac Sabbath, and many more. The goal isn’t just to host shows—it’s to curate experiences that the team and their community genuinely love.
Beers With a Point of View
Transplants’ beer program prizes creativity over trend-chasing. The team workshopped recipes together from the beginning—often pairing Sarah’s culinary instincts with Anthony’s brew-house execution to dial in flavors and adjuncts. Expect beers and hard seltzers that are playful without sacrificing balance; even a Chocolate Raspberry Stout can be rich, smooth, and easy-drinking.
They’re open about what they don’t do, too. If a style doesn’t fit their palate or vibe, they pass—even if it might sell. Authenticity comes first.

Art That’s Part of the DNA
Visual identity is integral at Transplants. The walls showcase striking work by B.L. Singleton, a contributor since the early days, and the venue’s distinctive posters, flyers, and merch come from Goldie Samilkhan, their full-time artist. The result is a space that looks like the music sounds—bold, off-beat, and unmistakably theirs.
Good Neighbors, Good Nights
Food trucks rotate in to cover the eats, the staff keep the atmosphere friendly and drama-free. Regulars will tell you: it’s easy to settle in here—whether you came for a beer release, a trivia night, or a sold-out Saturday show.
