PALMDALE, CA — The City of Palmdale invites residents and visitors alike to take part in a historic and heartfelt farewell as the AV Wall—a half-scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C.—is presented for its final public display. This five-day tribute will be held from Saturday, November 8, through Wednesday, November 12, at the Palmdale Amphitheater, located at 2723 Rancho Vista Blvd.

A Week of Honor and Remembrance
The City encourages the community to come together for a series of ceremonies dedicated to reflection, remembrance, and gratitude:
Saturday, Nov. 8: AV Wall Escort to the Amphitheater at 8 a.m.; Opening Ceremony at 4 p.m.
Sunday, Nov. 9: Candlelight Ceremony at 8 p.m., honoring the 76 men from the Antelope Valley who lost their lives in the Vietnam War.
Tuesday, Nov. 11: Veterans Day Ceremony at 11 a.m.
Wednesday, Nov. 12: AV Wall Retirement Ceremony at 8 a.m.
The wall will be open to the public 24 hours a day beginning Saturday, Nov. 8, and admission is free.
A Legacy of Honor
“This final display represents a profound opportunity for our community to stand together in gratitude for the men and women who served our country during the Vietnam War,” said Mayor Pro Tem Laura Bettencourt. “The AV Wall has united generations of Palmdale residents with the enduring legacy of these heroes. This is our last chance to experience this powerful memorial in person.”
Sixteen Years of Service and Reflection
Bearing the names of more than 58,000 service members who made the ultimate sacrifice, the AV Wall has served as a moving tribute for 16 years—traveling throughout the Antelope Valley and beyond to offer reflection, remembrance, and healing to thousands.
Following a recent decision by the AV Wall Board, this year’s exhibition will mark the official retirement of the memorial, closing a deeply meaningful chapter in local history. For the past 16 years, Point Man Antelope Valley has served faithfully as the wall’s guardian and caretaker.
