Blanket-Wrapped Body Found in West Lancaster

LANCASTER, CA — A heavy law enforcement response was reported Monday following a call of a body wrapped in a blanket behind a dumpster in West Lancaster.

According to dispatch, units were requested Code 3 to the area of 3343 West Avenue L-2, after reports of a person wrapped in a blanket located behind a dumpster. The individual was described as not moving, with unknown breathing status at the time of the call.

When Antelope Valley News arrived on scene, a total of seven marked and unmarked vehicles were observed coming and going from the location. Authorities had already begun securing the area.

An officer at the scene was unable to provide additional information, and no official statement had been released at the time. But we were told that officers from Los Angeles were on the way.

Road Closures & Ongoing Investigation

Nearby streets were impacted as the situation unfolded. 35th Street West was shut down between Avenue L and Avenue L-4. 

As crews were clearing the scene, a white unmarked Dodge Charger arrived, and an individual believed to be a detective was seen entering the area—indicating the investigation may be transitioning into a more detailed phase.
