Authorities Investigate the Death of a 2-Month-Old Infant in Lancaster

Lancaster, CA –A tragic incident is under investigation following the death of a 2-month-old infant at a Lancaster residence early Sunday morning, September 1.

Deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to the 44000 block of Beech Avenue around 8:19 a.m. after receiving reports of a baby who was not breathing.
Emergency crews—including firefighters and paramedics—arrived quickly and attempted life-saving measures. Sadly, the infant was pronounced dead at the scene, according to officials from the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
Sheriff’s investigators confirmed the child’s death but have not released additional details. Detectives remained at the home into the late morning hours, working to understand the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
Although the case is not currently classified as a homicide, the LASD Homicide Bureau was called in as part of standard protocol for investigating unexplained infant deaths.
